Under-19 squad named

THE Victorian Country Football League has announced a 52-man squad for the VCFL under-19 State Team.
The team, coached by Damian Sexton, will convey on the Victorian Amateur Football Association's under-19 team on July 19 at the Junction Oval in St Kilda.
The city-versus-country junior match decision be the curtain raiser to the senior clash between the VCFL and the VAFA.
It's the second interleague nomination with respect to squad member Jackson Macleod, from Thomson in the Geelong and District league, who besides played in the VCFL District State Team earlier this month.
The squad, which began training last weekend, is:

COUNTRY footy clubs looking to snap a long losing streak take note: The Weekly Times can help make it happen.
Our front page description last week (right) poked a bit of fun at Warrnambool and District league cellar dweller Deakin University, later than they lost to Timboon Demons by a whopping 225 points.
But the Sharks got their own back on Saturday, notching their first victory since Round 11 last year.
Dylan Chaplin-Burch booted five goals in the 41-point win over East Warrnambool, after the Sharks piled on five goals to nil in the first quarter.
East Warrnambool is at this moment all but guaranteed back-to-back wooden spoons.
The win allowed Deakin players to bust used up the Shark Shuffle, a victory dance embraced by the club's learner population if it be not that despised by opponents.
Sharks supporters expectancy to see the Shuffle at in the smallest degree once besides this season, with Deakin scheduled to play four sides in the bottom half of the ladder in the seven remaining rounds.

THERE’S always a few lopsided results in Victorian country footy, but four in particular caught our eye last weekend.
Horsham and District league reigning premier and ladder leader Kalkee booted 52 goals in its 336 point demolition of last-placed Natimuk.
The hapless Rams trailed by 11 goals at quarter-time and managed just two behinds for the entire game.
VCFL arctic west circle manager Bruce Petering said officials believed Kalkee's 52.26 (338) was a form an alliance record.
Kalkee's three representatives in last month's VCFL District State Team - brothers Steve and Grant Schultz and Josh Mibus - all got among the goals on Saturday.
Grant booted 11, Steve four and Mibus seven. Riley McFarlane also kicked 11 for the winners.
The Kees are right to meet the league's other unbeaten team, Rupanyup, in a fortnight.
Last week's unbalanced results continued in the troubled Benalla and District league, where Swanpool 50.26 (326) defeated Tatong 1.2 (8).
In the form an alliance'session other more advanced match, Bonnie Doon won its 27th uninterrupted game with a 32.21 (213) to 0.1(1) thumping of Longwood.

KERANG is doing its best to forget last year’s diabolical grand final day as it aims for a second Central Murray league senior flag.
The Blues are undefeated after nine rounds this season, including a 40-point win over second-placed Balranald on Saturday.
Former Carlton upholder and Kerang local Luke Livingston has impressed since returning from VFL club Port Melbourne, snagging 58 goals and earning a spot in Kerang's best in eight of nine matches.
Last year, the club lost just five games across three grades of football, but was defeated in the senior, reserves and colts grand finals.
Kerang president Rob Fisher said the club hadn'familiarily spent abundant time dwelling attached the past.
"We spoke almost what happened at the beginning of the season, but it's not a week-to-week discussion topic," Fisher related.
"I'm fast our supporters still talk around it and the opposition clubs still remind us, but we're just focusing on what we can control, which is our next game.
"But we've certainly learnt more lessons from last year."
Fisher said Livingston, along by another antecedent VFL player, Troy Coates, had led the way for the Blues this season.
He said last year's league best-and-fairest, Chris Gibson, and a handful of players through 50-60 games under their belt had helped to accord. the team a strong core.
"We've also had seven or eight kids from the under-17 team, which is on apex of the ladder as well, advance through the seniors.

Another, Kolora-Noorat, can rightfully claim it is the best team in the Warrnambool and District league this season, having played and defeated all 11 of its opponents.
Nilma-Darnum, in the Ellinbank and District league, has 10 wins from 10 outings and is on pursue for its first flag since 1959.
Reigning premier Swifts Creek has again dominated the Omeo and District competition.
The Demons are undefeated after nine matches and sit three games clear of nearest rival Swan Reach on top of the ladder.
With just six rounds remaining in the home-and-away season, the league's final four seems set in stone.
Lindenow South and Buchan, from one side just one win apiece, look sure to miss finals action this year.
In the Kyabram and District league, a round 17 rematch between Nagambie and Undera is shaping as the most anticipated clash of the year.
Percentage is the only thing separating the ladder leaders after nine rounds and their round-six meeting ended in a draw.
