Warragul teams pummelled
IT WAS a dark day for footy fans in Warragul after both of the township’s football teams were pummelled on Saturday.
Warragul Industrials surprised everyone in the Ellinbank and District league when they lost to Garfield 19.14 (128) to 2.3 (15).
Garfield president Gerry Cunningham said the win was steady more wonderful, given that four of the Stars' best players were injured.
"We played the best we've played all year and they played their worst," Cunningham said.
Warragul Gulls also came not upon worse for wear later than playing Maffra in the Gippsland league.
The winless Gulls were no match for the Eagles, who are still equal in number one in the league after their 13.26 (104) to 1.3 (9) victory.
